J Arthur Gray

Bio: Thank you for taking the time to drop in, I have the virtual kettle on, would you like virtual tea or coffee? As an aspiring writer I gain inspiration from people and life, both of which never cease to amaze me in so many different and often wonderful ways. I have always tried to follow the 'Life is for Living and not Worrying' school of thought, but have failed miserably and nowadays I spend my time worrying about how much living I have actually missed out on. Please accept that everything I write is done with my tongue firmly wedged in my cheek and one eye winking furiously. No offense is ever meant.

  1. Thank you, Mr. Gray, for deciding to follow my work. With some long-distant ancestor hailing from the UK, I trust we’ll find common grounds for mutual appreciation. The ocean has, after all, become little more than a pond.

    1. I really enjoyed reading ‘What would you do?’ and hope to read more of your earlier work when time allows. In today’s virtual world even the pond has almost gone. Thank you too, Kind Regards

  2. Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.

My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

    UNCLE SPIKE

  3. J. Thank you for virtually following my blog. I hope you don’t mind my virtually Following you back in return here as well as on Twitter. As the song says, Don’t Worry, Be Happy.

    1. Thanks for the follow 🙂

  4. Hello there! Thanks so much for the follow on my blog. You have some really nice stories here and I look forward to reading more. 🙂

    1. Thanks Arl. I’m going to try your Just Right Vanilla Cupcakes when I get the chance, they sound yummy 🙂

  5. Hello, JArthur. Thanks so much for visiting my site and choosing to follow along. And for keeping your kettle on. Be careful you don’t hurt yourself with all that tongue-wedging and eye-winking!

    1. Thanks Sandy Sue, Internet where I am is a bit ridiculous and patchy. When I get chance gonna check out more of your stuff 🙂
      Kind Regards

  6. Hi J
Hope you’re enjoying my various Gaming write-ups on my blog. I like your stuff about visiting the US; has given me some interesting encounter ideas.
Some guy stopped me in the street the other day and said “didn’t you play drums in Damascus? I used to come and see you all the time”. No idea who he was.

    1. Hey Mate, how you keeping? I have to admit I haven’t read your blog in a while, nor written much in mine either…must start again. Been busy writing the next book and you’ve reminded me about some of the fun times in Damascus.
